  In mid September, I called to find out what the status of the various parts of my order were, thinking I'd have heard something about the coffee and side-tables by that point. I was told they had only just received the leather, which was apparently also on backorder, so it was going to be after December that I'd receive the sofa and loveseat. I asked what I was supposed to do now with this delay and so I was offered a loaner sofa and there was some mention of "compensation" but no indication of what that meant.

  So, in the end, it took 3 months for the tables to arrive and 5.5 months for the sofa and loveseat. At no point did anyone reach out to me to provide information about the progress of my order, which clearly had hiccups and delays along the way that were not communicated to me until I asked. Also, no real compensation has been offered to date. The delivery guys were a pleasure to deal with, at least.

  In mid July I went to La-z-boy at 1900 Rue Maurice Gauvin in Laval, which seems to be run by JC Perreault as that's the company I had been dealing with since I placed my order. I ordered a sofa, loveseat, coffee table and two side tables.

  I was told that the coffee and side tables were available in a warehouse and needed to be shipped here. The sofa and loveseat on the other hand had to be custom made and I was given to leather options. I was told that one leather was on backorder and would take a fair bit longer, so I chose the other leather. I was given an estimate of 3-4 months for the sofa and loveseat and I think it was something like 6 weeks for the tables.

  Then I asked about the rest of my order, which I should have received by that time. The CSR went off to investigate and came back saying "October" with no explanation, but I got the impression that the tables had accidentally not been ordered previously. I did receive the tables in mid October and the sofa and loveseat arrived yesterday an hour after the end of the provided delivery window.

  Quand on paie 5000$ pour un sofa, on ne s'attend pas à ce que le cuir craque après tout juste un peu plus d'un an et des entretiens réguliers. Ne vous fiez pas aux vendeurs qui vous disent que tout est garantie 3 ans, ce n'est pas vrai et ne vous fiez pas aux prix pour penser que ce sera davantage de qualité, ce n'est pas vrai non plus. Et ne vous attendez pas à ce que les vendeurs connaissent vraiment leurs produits, la seule chose qu'ils connaissent c'est la couleur de votre argent. Quant au service après-vente, il est peu utile et plus efficace de faire affaire directement avec le fabricant.
